Obituary Melvin Stephen Goodwin

Melvin Stephen Goodwin was born to the late Stephen and Rena Goodwin on August 4, 1942. He was educated in the D.C. Public School system and graduated from Cardozo Senor High School. He served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge.

Melvin met and married his soul mate Elizabeth Mary Hymes on July 27, 1967. Melvin worked as a professional mover and worked for the Advisory Board. He was later offered a position at Xerox Corporation where he retired in 2004,

 

He leaves to mourn, his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth M. Goodwin, three step-children (Leonard G. Hymes, Joyce E. Drakeford-Bey -- both preceded in death); Geraldine V. Brown; three sisters: Tracey Washington, Joyce Sterling and Brenda Goodwin; three brothers: Calvin Goodwin (preceded in death); Eric Goodwin and Wayne Goodwin, a Mother-in Law, a sister-in-law; and a brother-in-law; eight step-grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
