Obituary Edgar McCard

Edgar McCard passed Tuesday, January 25,2000. He was born in Washington, D.C. to James and Francis McCard. He was educated in the pubic schools of the District of Columbia, and later attended the University of Maryland.

 

In 1947, he married Mary Margaret Bruce. During his marriage they were blessed with four children, Deboiah, Rhonda, George and Joseph. For twenty-five years, he worked as a passenger agent for Amtrak. Additionally, his career included a position as a Senior Aide for the University of Maryland; and he volunteered his services to the community for many years. He received various awards for his civic work. During his later years he attended the services of Jehovah's Witnesses.

 

Surviving and mourning the loss are: his wife, Mary Bruce McCard; two daughters, Deborah Marie McCard and Rhonda McCard; one son, Joseph Alvin McCard, Baltimore, MD; two sisters Mrs. Annette Swinney and Mrs. Sylvia Reed, Washington, D.C.. two sisters-in-laws, Mrs. Alfireda Gunter and Mrs. Willie A. Wooten, Baltimore, MD; four brothers-in-law, Alfred Bruce, Baltimore, MD, Arthur F. Bruce, Algia Reed, Carl L. Swinney, Washington, D.C; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
