Mrs. Willie Brandon Howard, daughter of the later Osh & Sarah Williams Brandon, was born March 20, 1904 in Granville County, North Carolina and departed this life Thursday, August 14, 1980 at Granville Hospital, Oxford, North Carolina.

She sought the Christian journey to Heaven in her youth by becoming a member of Ilong Baptist Church. It was here she grew strong in her faith and dedication under the guidance of strong parents and other Christian leaders in the community. Her devotion to her church led her to become president of the Gospel Choir, Sunday School teacher, Missionary sister, organist of the church for over thirty years and a deaconess of Ilong Baptist Church.

She was united in marriage to Robert Howard who preceded her in death in 1967, but surviving from this union are one daughter, Mrs. Susie Thorpe of Oxford and one son, Ulyses Howard of Oxford. Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Annie Bell Taylor of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Susie Peace, Mrs. Rachel Peace both of Oxford and Mrs. Flora Burrell of Norfolk, Va.; one brother Otis Frandon of Kittrell; a daughter-in-law Mrs. Christine Howard of Oxford; two brothers-in-law George Peace of Oxford and Herbert Burrell of Norfolk, Va.; two grandchildren and numerous other relatives and remembering friends.
