Mr. William McAdoo Stokes, the son of the late Anna and T. 0. Stokes, Sr., was born March 13, 1921 in Nash County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday, June 18, 1988.   McAdoo joined the Stokes Chapel Baptist Church at an early age.   He served faithfully in the U.S. Army for twentyone years and received numerous Awards and Decorations before retiring. He rose to the rank of Master Sergeant and served in World War 11 and the Korean Conflict.   After retirement, McAdoo entered the Civil Service where he worked for the Department of Defense. He received many awards and commendations. After twenty-five years, he retired. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant on the Department of Defense Police Force. After his second retirement, he returned home to Middlesex where he worked faithfully with the church Until his death.   Those who are grateful to be blessed with fond memories of him are: his wife, Mrs. Lenora Stokes of the home; his children, Larry Stokes and Maurice Stokes of the home, Juanita Thompson of Capitol Heights, Md. and Bette Jo Speight of Alexandria, Va.; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Janis Southall of E. Liverpool, Ohio; two brothers, Oliver St.okes of Durham and T. 0. Stokes, Jr. of Greensboro; many other relatives and friends.   We seldom take the time to tell you all the things we- feel; We want to tell you that our love for you is very real.. We've long appreciated your kind and thoughtful deeds; You've always been so sensitive, responding to our needs. We feel. you are so special; let us thank you from our heart, For all your treasured wisdom and the warmth that you in-part. We will always respect you for the ways in which you care; It's reassuring knowing that your love is always there.
