Mr. Ulyses Howard the son of the late Robert and Willia Brandon Howard was born in Granville County,
N.C. February 4, 1924, and departed this life July 7, 1985 at 9:45 p.m. at
Duke Hospital in Durham, N.C.
He professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Ilong Baptist Church and remained a member until death.
He joined the usher board, and the Gospel Chorus.
He was a veteran of World War II. He attended Mary Potter High School
and finished a trade as a carpenter. He was employed at Duke University
Medical Center for 18 years. He made friends to all he met and was truly a
friend to man.
He leaves to mourn, a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia H. Hunter of Goldsboro,
N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Susie H. Wilkerson of Oxford, N.C.; a son-in-law, Mr.
Jerry Hunter of Goldsboro, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Alex Wilkerson of
Oxford, N.C.; two grandchildren, Raven Jonnelle,
and Carmen Maranda of Goldsboro, N.C.; three aunts, Mrs. Rachel Peace of
Oxford, N.C., Mrs. Annie B. Taylor, Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Ida Brandon, Kittrell, N.C.; three uncles, Mr. Otis Brandon, Kittrell, N.C., Mr. George Peace, Oxford, N.C., Mr.
Herbert Burrell of Norfolk, Va. and a host of other relatives and friends.
