Mrs. Sophia Brandon
Adams, daughter of the late Otis and Sarah Brandon of Granville County, was
born in Granville Co.,on
November 8, 1887. A beautiful life
ended February 7, 1980, 8 A.M.at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bettie
Brown of Zebulon. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Samuel C,
Adams on February 22, 1911 and to this union eight children were born. She
reared two foster children and seven grandchildren as if they were her own
because of her love for others. During the tender years of her life, she
was converted, baptized and united with the Ilong
Baptist Church. She remained an active, very dedicated member as long as she lived there. After marriage, she moved
her membership to Pleasant Grove and remained a member until death. Her
survivors are: seven daughters, Mrs. Eleanor A. Stokes of Durham, Mrs. Aldonia Pace of Wendell, Mrs. Iantha Harris of
Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Bettye A. Brown of Zebulon, Mrs. Ruth A. Guerrant of Philadelphia, Penn., Mrs. 0livia A. Pulley
of Spring Hope and Mrs. Esther A. Posey of Seat Pleasant, Md.; two foster
sons, Jarious Adams of Zebulon and George Adams
of Philadelphia, Penn.; seven sons in-law; five sisters, Mrs. Susie Peace,
Mrs. Rachel Peace, and Mrs. Willie Howard all of Oxford, Mrs. Annie Taylor
of Raleigh and Mrs., Flora Burell of Norfolk; one
brother, Otis Brandon of Oxford; sixty grandchildren; thirty-five great
grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a
host of other relatives and friends.
