Ruth C Guerrant was born in Wendell, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Samuel C. Adams and Sophia B. Adams. Ruth was one of 10 children: Eleanor, Aldonia, Bettie, Olovia, Ruth, Leuella, Iantha, Jarious, Easther, and George. Ruth made her transition to glory on May 19, 2012 at 7:53pm at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.  During the 1940's Ms. Ruth C. Adams migrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and stayed with her brother, George ( June) . During her nearly 90 years of life, she bore four, handsome sons: Samuel Charles (SC), George McKinley, George Anthony ( Tony), and Gustiegall ( GG) . Ruth was a dedicated member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and a member of its Prayer Band. She enjoyed the singing of songs by Pastor Wilson.

Ruth was a straight 'A" student at James E. Sheppard High School. During World War II she started working at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and shortly afterwards, Ruth met her soul-mate, Mr. George G. Guerrant Jr. They joined in marriage on September 9, 1944. The rest of her adult life she was a homemaker, mother, and a representative of the Lord. She never forgot any family member or friend's birthday, always sending something on certain occasions. Utilizing organizational skills and management of money skills, she passed her God given talent to family and friends. Ruth had the ability to encourage family and friends. The wisdom that she possessed was shared with whoever would give a listening ear.
