Ruth Angelene Brown
Yelverton the daughter of Bettie Adams Brown and the late Percy Brown, was
born August 13, 1949 in Wake County, North Carolina. She received her
education at the James E. Shepard High School in Zebulon, North Carolina
where she is remembered by her abilities to shoot a hoop, and bring in a
home run. Many friends are sharing in the sorrow of her death from the
United States Postal Service, where she retired. As a member of Stokes
Chapel Baptist Church in Middlesex, North Carolina, she put forth a lot of
effort in her church as she sang in the choir and worked on the Hospitality Committee. Angelene found
joy and peace in giving and sharing blessings with others as God had given
to her. Those who came in contact with Angelene knew her greatest joy came
by giving and sharing with others
the very best she had to offer. In critiquing her life, we find that she
will be greatly remembered by
family, friends, and community for her excellence in cooking. Angie cooked
endlessly just to brighten eyes and bring smiles as she gave food away so
freely, time after time. She would do her
very best; yet, still one would walk away feeling that Angelene
wished she could have done more. The
reason why she felt this way was due to the special love in her
heart she felt for everyone. No one was a
stranger to her because if you were hungry she would feed you.
Angelene, we miss you so much with your
tender-loving, giving heart. Angelene, we will always hold dear,
your forever gentle smile. Our beloved Angie leaves to cherish her loving
memories: one son, Michael Brown of the home; two daughters, Kimberly Sheree Brown and Bettye Annette
Brown of Wendell, N.C.; four grandchildren, Deon, Kenya, Danny and Siera
all of Wendell, N.C.; her mother, Bettie Adams Brown of Zebulon, N.C.; five
brothers, Percy Brown (Essie),
Steve Brown (Melanie) all of Raleigh, N.C., Johnnie Brown, Ted Brown
(Valerie) and Anthony Brown
(Geraldine) all of Zebulon, N.C. (three brothers, Charles, Samuel Charlie
and George, preceded her in death); three sisters, Suzette Chiles (Jimmy)
of Mitchellville, Md., Florene Dusty
of Temple Hill, Md., and Bettye Holden (Rogene) of Wendell (one
sister, Sophie Ann Beaman, also
preceded her in death); two additional sisters-in-law, Thelma Brown
and Shirley Brown; one additional
brother-in-law, Lloyd Beaman; special siblings reared in the home,
Jimmy Bridges of Zebulon, N.C.,
Gwendolyn Thomas of Laurel, Md., Dawne Orr of Charlotte, N.C.; four
aunts, lantha Harris of Baltimore, Md., Ruth Guerrant of Philadelphia, Pa.,
Olovie Pulley of Spring Hope, N.C. and Aggie Sutton of Richmond, Va.; several nieces and
nephews; a special friend, Otis Perry of Wendell, N.C. and a host of other relatives and friends. Thank the
Lord for little things, for they can surely grow Into the greatest treasures that you may ever know. Don't
covet worldly riches that may not be for you, or overlook the special gifts that God has given you.
Let "giving" outweigh "getting" on your scale of
happiness, And your joyful heart
will bask in the glow of Godliness For all His mercy--and His love when
prayers are answered from above Oh,
thank you, Lord for "little things" that help us soar on eagles
wings.
