Mrs. Rachel Brandon Peace was born October 30, 1895 in Vance County, North Carolina, to the late Osh and Sarah Williams Brandon. She departed this life Thursday, July 2, 1987, at Granville Medical Center, Oxford, N. C. She was a faithful member of Ilong Baptist Church, having joined during her youth and remained loyal down through the years. She served in many capacities ... as a missionary and a member of the gospel choir. She was also a member of the Mable Pearl Chapter #669 United Order of Tents. Surviving are her husband, George Peace of the home; one son, Morris Peace of Oxford, N. C.; seven daughters,Mrs.Gladys Braswell, Mrs. Annie G. Peace, Mrs. Mary Estes, Mrs. Lucille Blalock, Mrs. Ruth Stainback, Mrs. Lillian Cozart, all of Oxford; and Mrs. ". Dolpbine Cooper, of Creedmoor N. C.; a sister, Mrs. Annie Bell Taylor, of Raleigh, N. C.; a brother-in-law, Herbert Braswell, of Norfolk, Virginia; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Moore of Oxford, Mrs. Ida Brandon of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mrs. Odessa Brandon of East Orange, N.J.; six devoted sons-in-law; two loyal daughters-in-law; Jesse Taylor, whom she reared as a son; Roosevelt, Shirley and Lamont Greenwood, whom she loved as her own; and fifty Grandchildren; eighty-six great grandchildren; twenty great-great Grandchildren |
