Mrs. Pearl Davis
Sutton, daughter of the late Major and Elizabeth Davis, was born on July
15, 1929 in Vaughan, North Carolina and was called to rest in the Lord on
February 26, 2001 As a young girl,
Pearl accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior She was baptized and
became a member of Ashley Grove Baptist Church and attended regularly until
she moved to Virginia. After a number of years of living in Richmond
seeking a church to worship, became a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist
Church and later changed her membership to Cedar Street Memorial Baptist
Church. On April 2, 1.948, Pearl
was joined in holy matrimony to Zeb McKinley Sutton, Sr (presided her in
death). They were blessed with three sons and four daughters.She loved the
simple pleasures of life. The three great Loves of her life were her Lord
and the Lord's work, her husband and family. The company of family and
friends meant so much to her She will always be remembered as being a very
humble and loving person. There is much more we could say about Pearl, but
we can say, that we will truly miss her. Mrs. Sutton leaves to cherish her
memory. One son, William A. Sutton, five daughters: Esther S. Peebles,
Frances S. Tucker, Alfizda S Green Malinda S Stokes and Barbara Pennington.
Eleven grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one sister, Gracy D Radiff.
One daughter-in-law, Gayle C Sutton. Four sons-in-law. Ward C. Peebles, Sr,
Marcellus D Tucker, Sr, Harold T Green, Jr, James E. Stokes. T" Aunts:
Mrs. Essir Sledge and Mrs. Bettie Brown. Six brothers-in-law Prentice J.
Radif, Palmer Brown, Hany, Strwart, Steve, and Robert Sutton. Three
sisters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.
