God in his infinite wisdom, called our loved one, Rev. Odell Wright to his heavenly home January 24, 1992 at the Brian Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Rev. Odell Wright, son of the late William and Lugenia Wright, was bom September 8, 1910 in Johnston County.   At an early age, he joined the Merry Grove Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death. He received his education in the Wake County Schools and later furthered his Christian education at Shaw Divinity School and graduated after three years in June of 1975. He served as pastor at Southern Grove Baptist Church in Kenly, N.C. from 1977 until 1979.   He lived a long and fruitful life and was a devoted and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He always had a smile for those whom he met. He was first joined in Holy Matrimony to Mary Lucille Alston who preceded him in death. To this union, three children were bom. Later in life, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Monnie Bell Mangum.   His memory still lingers with: his wife, Monnie Bell Wright; five daughters, Claristine Graye, Lanham, Maryland, Bettie Barnes, Louisburg, N. C., Helen Holland, Selfridge, Michigan, Ozell Bullock and Endrea Cobb, both of Raleigh, N. C.; one adopted daughter, Lela Washington of Fayetteville, N.C.; five sons, James Wright, Raleigh, N. C., Donald Wright of Zebulon, Wilvester Wright of Yonkers N. Y., Anthony Wright of New Rochelle, N. Y., Robert Wright of Bronx, N. Y., one brother, James H. Wright of Zebulon; 33 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a host of nelces, nephews, relatives and friends.
