Mr. Zeb McKinley
Sutton son of the late Zeb Vance Sutton and Irene Brown Sutton, was born on
October 17, 1925 in Vaughan North Carolina.and was called to rest on March
6, 1988 in the Chippenham Hospital Richmond Virginia. He attended the North Carolina public
schools. He served in the United States arm forces from October 3, 1944
until August 10, 1946. He joined Ashley Grove Baptist Church at an early
age and attended until he moved to Richmond Virginia. After being in Richmond Virginia for a
number of years he joined the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He was a gentle kind and witty man. He
always spoke slowly. That slow manner of speech was his trademark. Those who knew him will smile and
remember. He loved his family and
friends enjoyed the simple pleasures of life the outdoors and fishing. You could always find him tinkering or
puttering around with something. He
was married to the former Pearl Agnes Davis and to this union four
daughters and three sons were born. Those left to cherish the memory of his love and
devotion are his wife; Mrs. Pearl D. Sutton, five daughters Mrs. Ester S.
Peebles, Mrs. Frances S. Tucker, Mrs. Alfreda S. Green, Ms. Melinda E.
Sutton and Mrs. Barbara Pennington. Three sons Zeb M. Sutton, William M
Sutton, and Walter C. Sutton, and 12 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mattie
S. Fletcher; seven brothers Stewart K. Roberts, James, Harry C. Bernard and
Clemon Sutton; and Palmer Brown; six sisters in law; one devoted Mrs.
Gracie Ratliff; three brothers-in-law; one devoted Mr. Prentice Ratliff;
four sons in law two bevoted Richard C. Peebles and Dr. Harold T. Greene,
Marcellus D. Tucker and Richard Pennington; two daughters in law, Gail and
Deborah Sutton; to devoted aunt's, Ms. Bettie Brown and Essie Sledge;
stepmother Mrs. Ida P. Sutton; a devoted friend James Stokes and a host of
other relatives and friends.
