                 Ms. Mattie Ruth Kent daughter of the late Jesse and Mozelle Kent Hardy was born in Wilson North Carolina on November 10, 1941.  She departed this life on January 19, 2016 at Johnson Health Smithfield, North Carolina

           Mattie attended school in the Johnston County School District. Mattie accepted Christ at an early age, where she attended St. Luke Holiness Church.  Later in life, she became a faithful member of St. Peter Church of Christ Disciples of Christ.

Mattie was a loving mother, compassionate and peacemaking family member, neighbor and friend"

Left to cherish her memories are, her two children: Mr. William Kent of Dunn, NC and her loving and devoted daughter, Ms" Elsie Kent of Raleigh, N.C; Robert Ingram, special friend of Selrn4 NC; two brothers: Mr. Jimmy Kent of Bunn NC and Jesse Hardy (Rhonda) of Charles City, VA; sisters: Betty Hardy of Wendell, NC; Geraldine Hardy of Winston-Salem, NC and Angier Hardy of Wendell, NC; four grandchildren: Terrell Kent (Easha McClearn of Smithfield, NC), Tywon Kent Taylor Kent and Gabriel Kent; four great grandchildren: Jada Kent Marcus Worrell, Theron Kent and Braylon Kent; one aunt! Flora Mae Kent of Smithfield, NC and a host of other relatives and friends, including two special friends: Lottie Dublin of Smithfield, NC and Alice Harvey of Smithfield, NC.
