Mr. Lucious Rawleigh Peace, the son of the late Hezekiah Peace and Gladys Vick Peace, was born June 29, 1936 in Granville County, North Carolina. On December 18, 2015 he departed this earthly life at Durham Regional Hospital of Durham, NC.
He attended James E. Shepard High School in Zebulon, NC where he graduated in 1955. In that same year, he joined the US Navy.
Lucious married Della Ruth O'Neal. Later, he remarried the late Rosina Millings Edmonds in 2000.
His sister, Shirley Jean Peace, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories: children, Derwin A. Peace of Dallas, TX, Chondra P. Jenkins (Johnnie) of Raleigh, NC, Alexandra Morris (Cortez) of Baltimore, MD, Eric D. Peace of Raleigh, NC, Donnis P. Carr (Antonio) of Fayetteville, NC and Rev. Reginald High of Zebulon, NC; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Peace of Raleigh, NC, James Marshall Peace of Brooklyn, NY and Thomas Peace of Raleigh, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
We just can't know what lies ahead, From day to passing day; What changes God is planning, In His wise and loving way. We just can’t know the reason, Why our sorrow has to be; We too must lose someone we need, And love so specially.
