James H. Wright, Jr. was born on August 4, I947 to the late Isabelle Drayton Wright and James H. Wright, Sr. at St" Agnes Hospital in Raleigh, N.C.: James accepted Christ at an early age and joined Zebulon First Baptist Church. James attended and graduated from James E. Shepard High School in Zebulon, NC in 1965 where he enjoyed playing basketball and was voted the most athletic player during his tenure at Shepard. He was in several organizations and consistently maintained good marks along with playing basketball. James .joined the United States Air Force in 1966 during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge in 1972.
After leaving the United States Air Force, James relocated .to Maryland and attended Atlantic Airline School in-'Kansas City where he met his travel ‘buddy and longtime friend, Clarence James. After completing school. They relocated to Washington, DC where lames joined Allegheny Airlines which later became Piedmont and, 'eventually US Airways. Clarence decided to join the government, but the two of them have .remained longtime friends to this day. James enjoyed a 40 plus year career with US Air-ways. Not only did: he enjoy his job but he also enjoyed bowling. After years of perfecting his skills, James later became a professional bowler with St. Charles, MD being his longest tenure. During a blind date and after a month long phone conversations, James and Jeanette finally met in person and their love for each other began. It was love at first sight. They married on January 8, 2001 in a little white chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada,: God knew what they each needed and gave them a love only He could give!
Through continual fellowship with his wife, in-,laws, Elder Fletcher and Sister Beverly Davis, Elder Robert and; Sister Beverly Goldstein - James Wright acknowledged the Plan of Salvation through the .Leadership of Bishop Charles E. Johnson, Pastor of Greater Morning Star Apostolic Ministries and was baptized in ‘Jesus Name on October 1,2013. ,James’s continued to seek the Lord and called upon Him through his acknowledgment. God showed him favor! Jambs enjoyed Sunday Morning Worship.
Service and the word being rightly divided under the unction of the Holy Ghost by Bishop Johnson and other ministers of Greater ‘Morning Star. When he was unable to attend" due to his illness, he would listen to the service on the radio broadcast. Bishop Johnson had a profound spiritual impact on James' life. James saw a man that talked about his past life and where God had taken him. This, made James realize that what God did for Bishop, He could do it for him! James H. Wright, Jr. was known for being: a wonderful person with a caring spirit. He loved and enjoyed being around family-y and friend’s and strived to put a smile on everyone's face. After a short illness and a good fight, God decided to pick His perfectly bloomed flower and called James to enteral rest on August 29, 2014 at 3:00pm at home with his beloved wife by his side.
James was preceded in death by his father, James H. Wright Sr. and. mother, Isabelle Drayton Wright. He leaves behind to celebrate his life: his precious, woman of God, dedicated and committed wife, Jeanette Johnson Wright; three 1.'siSlings: Barbara Carol Smith (Mose) of Raleigh, NC, Dwight Lanier Wright of Raleigh, NC and Barry Jerome Wright of Zebulon, NC; two uncles: Everett Drayton and Theodus Drayton of Ridgeland, SC; surrogate son and daughter, Al Q. and Twaneisha D. McClain (Madelyn/Aaron) who stayed on top of his medical needs - and for this we say thank you; in-laws; Deacon Dolphus and Sister Catherine Johnson; two sisters-in-law; Peggie Watson (Willie) and Priscilla Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Frederick D. Johnson (Michelle and Dean, Jr), and Dolphus Johnson, Jr.; many friends of 40 plus years: Angelo Harris (since ,1st grade), Earl Green, Franklin, Linda, Brenda, Margaret, Hoppie; Rill and man)., many more; special friends: Tony & Antoinette (Andrew), Davis. (adopted brother, sister-in-1aw and nephew) Norman &, Denise Gavin and Bagbarette Smith; his faithful companion, Brutus Wright (19 month old Boxer) and a host of in-laws, family and friends. |
