DEACON GEORGE ADAMS, made his transition to eternal rest on Wednesday, October 23, 1996. George was born in Wendell, North Carolina to the late Mr. George and Mrs. Alberta Adams on February 5, 1916. He was raised by his late Uncle Samuel and Aunt Sophia Adams. In Zebulon, North Carolina; George received his education in the   Public schools and graduated from Zebulon, Wakefield High School,   North Carolina. He worked for a few years in Raleigh, North Carolina and then migrated to Philadelphia the year 1940. George retired from Budd's after many years of employment.   He was converted and baptized at an early age. Remembering that God was good to him, George Adams connected himself with Hopewell /now New Psalmist Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend W.W. Hankinson the year of 1952.   George used his love of music to uplift the name of Jesus, by singing with the N.P. Male Chorus, playing his guitar to accompany several groups and the late Carrie Mae.. He joined the Prayer Band, visited the sick and prayed for them. George Adams was watched by the Pastor the Late Reverend Charles Walker and the Official of the Church.   He was united in marriage on February 1971, to the late Carrie Mae Williams, their life together was good, each desiring to please each other. George provided well for her, because Carrie made him what he became.   George was ordained a Deacon by the late Reverend Charles Walker, Jr. He and the late Carrie Mae were devoted Deacon and Deaconess.. Together they kept in touch with his field and especially th~ sick and shut-in. He leaves to cherish his memory: his brother; Zeke Adams, N.J., and eight sisters; Irene, Marie Adams, Alberta Williams, Laura Cooke, Aldona Paer, Iantha Harris, Betty Brown, Ruth Garrett and O'Lvie Pulley, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews, friends, church family and an especially devoted cousin; Deaconess Emethel Allen, also a spiritual son; Deacon Waldo Wilson, Jr.
