Dorothy Thorpe Jones, daughter of the late Peter Paul Thorpe and Annie Bell Giles Thorpe was born July 11, 1929 in Wake County, N.C. She departed this life August 25, 1990 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh, N.C.   On September 29, 1946, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Henry Ed Jones. to this union, seven children were born. She joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Her formal education was received at the Richard B. Harrison High School in Selma. She was a former employee of the Guardian Care Center in Zebulon, N. C.   Dorothy was a loving mother and a devoted friend to all who knew her. She gave a special attention to the problems of friends and she always put the needs of other people before her own.   She leaves to mom: five sons, Harry Lee Jones of Wendell, Bobby Edward Jones of Capitol Heights, Md., Henry Ed Jones, Jr. of Zebulon, Michael P. Jones and Toney Jones all of Wendell; two daughters, Edna Doris Jones of Zebulon and Carolyn Jean Ford of Wendell; two brothers, Randolph W. Thorpe of Temple Hills, Md. and Robert E. Thorpe of Wendell; three sisters, Maggie R. Walton and Mary E. Sutton of Zebulon, Flora A. O'Neal of Landover, Md., one great aunt, Annie Bell Taylor of Raleigh; two aunts, Mary Johns of Phil. Pa., and Alberta Williams of Wendell; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In tears we saw you sinking and watched you fade away. Our hearts were almost broken, we wanted you to stay. but when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful free from pain, How could we wish you back with us to suffer that again. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.
