Mr. Charles McCoy Brown Sr. son of Bettie Adams Brown and the late Percy Brown, Sr., was born February 18, 1938, in Wake County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 11, 1998. Charles completed his education at the James E. Shepard High School. He served with the United States Army in the Airborne Division as a Paratrooper. Mr. Brown was a well-known professional logger in various counties. His bobbies included baseball, fishing, hunting, providing care to his animals, and his strength was providing the love for all children, and anyone else that needed that touch from him. Mr. Brown was united with Christ at Stokes Chapel Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Thelma Pauline Brown of the home; onedaughter, Lisa Renee Brown of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Charles McCoy Brown, Jr., Milton Earl Brown (Sherry, fiancee), and Reginald Lashaun Brown all of Charlotte, N.C.; his mother, Bettie Adams Brown of Zebulon, N.C.; four sisters, Florene Dusty of Temple Hill, Md., Suzette Chiles (Jimmy) of Mitchellville, Md., Betty Faye Holden (Rogene) of Wendell, N.C. and Ruth Angeline Yelverton of Zebulon, N.C. (one sister, Sophia Beamon,  receded him in death); six brothers, Percy Brown, Jr. (Essie), Steve Brown(Melanie) all of Raleigh, N.C., Johnnie Earl Brown, Ted Gray Brown (Valerie), Anthony Ray Brown (Geraldine), and Jimmy Bridges (Sandra) all of Zebulon, N.C.; four brothers-in-law, Lloyd Beamon of Randallstown, Md.; Wallace Jones (Wilma) of Bronx, N.Y., Ernest Jones (Suzanna) of Wendell, N.C. and Milton Jones of Zebulon, N.C.; six  sisters-in-law, Jennie Jane Woodbury of Bronx, N.Y., Bertha Jones of Raleigh, N.C., Irene Jones, Channie Jones, Jane Ellen Jones all of New York, N.Y. and Agnes Carol Robinson (Toney) of Hollywood, Ca.; four maternal aunts; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
