She used her singing talent to uplift the Name of Jesus and she knew that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall be received of The Lord. Carrie Mae not only sang praises to her Lord, she servedfaithfully on The Usher Board, Missionary Society, Mother's Board, and was President of The Prayer Band for over thirty years. Carrie sang with the Female Hopewell/Golden Gates Singers. She later became Manager of the group. They sang at the Backhome hours, and appeared on many programs in Philadelphia along with The Blue Gates of Harmony.

Carrie Mae sang with The Hankinson Chorus until her health started to fail. She was not ashamed to praise the Name of Him who Saved her from her sins. Whenever and wherever her spiritual cup ran over, she would speak of her happy soul. She was a true prayer and praise warrior, and dedicated a lot of time to visiting and praying for the sick and shut-in.
